Jody is a registered Professional Architect, Urban Designer and City Planner who has over 22 years of combined experience. Her training and experience allow her to play a notable role in large scale development processes, complex spatial planning exercises and strategic implementation programs, coordinating inputs from across disciplines and guiding design solutions in response to outcomes of thorough and relevant analysis through the scales. Her interests and strengths lie in spatial and urban analysis, strategic urban design thinking, conceptual architectural design exercises, green infrastructure, housing and transport / non-motorised transport planning. She is also involved in policy planning and research.

After graduating, Jody practised as an architect both as a sole practitioner and for periods in the employ of other established architectural companies in Cape Town. She then completed her Masters in City Planning and Urban Design and in 2001 started at NM and Associates team as an Urban Designer. In 2010 she became a director, leading the Urban Design projects and supporting the Architects and Planners in the office.
